Workshop How To Develop A Persona From Your Pen Name

How do you conduct a one day design thinking workshop?

1 day is both short to go through an entire process but long for your attendees from a participation perspective. Some Questions: Are your attendees familiar with Design thinking? or are they new to the process? or mixed? How many would be in the workshop? Will they be bring materials? or are they supplied? Is it about experiencing the process or learning the process or practicing the process? How long is 1 day - 12 hours? 24 hours? Where will the workshop be held? What problem area are you going to solve with in? Which prototyping method will you be conducting (paper, code, service, message, product etc)?Assuming above is defined I am breaking down a day by 9am-7pm.Here is a possible breakdown -Morning session: 9am - 11am• Design Thinking Process overview.• Empathy gathering / observation.• Audience Definition (proto personas).• Insight generation from audience and observation.Lunch session 11 am - 12pm• Problem Definition.Afternoon Session: 12 am – 5pm • Brainstorm I - Sticky note ideas (group ideation) • Pattern recognition ( Combine, organize, group) • Brainstorm II - What if, I like, I wish… (group ideation) • Idea selection (Now, How, Wow)• Prototype Choice • Rapid Prototyping (small group building) Evening Session: 5 pm – 7 pm • Prototyping testing • Prototype iteration • Prototype test II Finished with drinks and discussion of learningsWorkshops are among the most challenging to relate and produce successfully as group dynamics, familiarity with process, addressed problem, size, and creativity / making abilities of your participants are just some of the variables that can make or break a useful / successful workshop.Good luck
