I need help writing a letter to my former teacher...?
Hi there, I hope life's treating you well in Germany. Talking with my teacher's hat on, I can tell you I'd be happy to receive an email from a former student of mine even 3 years after the promise was made. After the professional relationship is over, once he's not teaching you anymore, you can consider it more like a friendship or mentoring relationship, so you can treat him like a friend, in which case you don't even need to apologize officially. Something humorous, on the line of 'they say it's better late than never' would probably do, but if you think this is too flippant, you may explain briefly how life took you through a tumultuous swirl, not only changing schools, but countries and even continents and starting your life again in Germany, which you didn't envisage it would take such a toll on you. You can add that you were thinking of him in the meanwhile, in view of your promise, but that you could never find the necessary peace of mind to sit down and write to him properly. He will understand and empathize with you. He'd be happy to hear that you're doing well over there. On the contrary, if you're not doing very well, I expect he'd be honored to see that you turn to him for advice. Write to him about your new life and even send him some pictures. Tell him that, in spite of your delay in writing to him, you'd actually treasure maintaining the contact and encourage him to tell you about him, other former teachers of yours that he may be keeping in touch with and perhaps other alumni or former colleagues of yours. Well, of course, only if this is true - don't deal out lies to anybody. Don't take it badly if he turns out to be a procrastinator, just like you - if that happens, be assured it's not because of you. He's an art teacher, after all, he, he... It may also be possible that he changed his email address in the meanwhile, or that he's not using this one frequently anymore - there are lots of reasons, if that happens. Be patient, just like he was. I don't know what else to suggest, but I hope this helps ease the awkward moment. Good luck and enjoy your communication.
Writing a letter to my teacher?
You already have a pretty good start in what you have written above! Dear Ms Teacher I don't want you to think me weird but, I want to thank you for being my teacher this year. You're funny and pretty cool. You make me laugh, feel good about myself, and I've looked forward to your class all year long. I've even learned some math this year. I am going to miss you and being in your class. ...Believe it or not, truly "reaching" kids is why most/many teachers entered teaching and what motivates them to continue. This type of a note/letter is a far better, end of the year gift than a mug or potted plant for many.
Help! i have to write a suck up letter to my teacher?
I would just be sure to flatter her like crazy. Tell her how you like the way she presents ideas, treats you all fairly, has taught you SO much about topic. Tell her you have enjoyed having her for a teacher this year, and that next year's students will be so lucky. Tell her that you hope your behavior and grades have adequately demonstrated your thankfulness for her wonderful teaching, though you're sure you couldn't possibly do THAT well. If you really want to lay it on thick, tell her how you love the way she dresses, that purple really is her color (or something like that), that she has awesome earrings, or that she is a shoe diva. I'm a teacher and I would love to hear those things.
