Ws Can You Touch Your Toes

I can't touch my toes. Is something wrong with me?

It’s okay if you can’t touch your toes. Do not force it. I can touch my toes if I want, but I choose not to do so most of the time. When I do, it is usually with my knees bent slightly.Listen to and honor your body and appreciate what it can do.Something we did in a recent yoga seminar, that you might want to explore is this: Gently do your forward fold until you reach the place that is comfortable for you, such as below your knee. Observe carefully how you feel throughout your body. Return to standing.Next put a tennis ball under the ball of your feet and roll the ball around on the floor with just a little bit of pressure. Move the tennis ball to other places under your foot and do the same, but avoid the arches. This will help to loosen some of your connective tissue, which runs throughout your entire body. Put the ball aside. Now try your forward fold again and see if you feel any difference. You may also want to experiment with different ways of doing your forward fold. Which parts of your back do you engage? (We typically want to avoid engaging our lower back to perform a pose). How do you hold your pelvis prior to the bend? Can you feel your core muscles engaging? How are you positioning your feet and where in your feet are you holding your weight? There is so much involved with this pose beyond simply touching your toes! Be careful that you are not straining your back or locking your knees.

My shoes fit, but they're a little tight around the toes. Should I move up a size?

You’ve got a lot of good responses here, but I just wanted to add another small point.I briefly worked in the shoe section of a department store…Generally you’ll find that a half size actually affects the width and not really the length. So best idea is to try a few different sizes and see which one feels best. You may well find that a little extra width makes the difference you need.If you get a shoe that is slightly too big, just pop in an inner-sole, it should help a little. And you could get a heel-grip which sticks onto the inside of the heel and stops the shoe from slipping up and down. There’s no point in worrying too much about what size you’re wearing, as long as it is comfortable. I’m a size 10 too but in some shoes I wear an 11. Just use the size you know as a basic guide to help you find the right fit/size in the particular shoe you are trying.Hope that helps you :)(By the way, if the shoe is touching your toenail and causing a bit of pressure, you need to try a bigger size, or that can become really painful. Most shoe fitters will try to get about a thumb’s width of space in front of the toe).

Why is the skin on my big toe peeling?

Depending on where it is located on your toe. If it is in the inside where it rubs against the side of your shoe, you could be starting to get a blister from your shoes or if you have been wearing them as athletic shoes and your feet have been perspiring, you could have athlete’s foot (fungus) which can spread between your feet and anywhere you touch on your skin until you wash your hands. This is the most likely. There are over the counter treatments of medication for this but you have to make sure that is what it is. Depending on your age, you could ask your mom, otherwise you could go ahead & ask the pharmacist on your own for a topical medication. You could show him/her your toe and ask them. If it is something else a blister for example, you would not want to put fungus medication on it, but just wash it with soap and water & pat it dry. So, for treatment of fungus, wash your feet, dry them with a CLEAN DRY towel. Do NOT let anyone else use that towel. ONLY use that towel for your feet. Use a blow dryer to make sure you get your feet completely dry. Then apply the medication or powder, and put on clean, dry COTTON …ONLY C OTTON socks every night. Remember cotton breaths. Men make the mistake of touching their feet, then touching their genitalia area in the shower spreading the fungus causing “jock itch” which is the fungus the same as “athletes feet” The treatment is the same. IN THE SHOWER, the shower HAS to BE WASHED. WEAR Flip Flops Rubber to not get the Fungus on your feet. That is where people usually pick it up=especially at public showers at the gym. Good luck

so i like websites that can teach me interesting junk. how-to sites, common knowledge i may have missed, not so common knowledge, peculiar news... alot of sites i run into are really stupid and start listing lame trivia facts and stuff that just isnt all that interesting. i dont want to here about stuff that isnt useful. im looking for things that make me think--that i can apply. those of u who also spend too much time surfing the web and being frustrated with all the useless junk taking up space prob kinda get wat i mean. my interests are actually really wide, so im just looking for lots of suggestions here. tell me ur fav finds that i may not know of. thanks much!!!

I'm a first time preschool teacher. How do you handle preschoolers?

Some other ideas are to make sure you have transition times between activities. Give a 5 minute and one minute warning prior to ending an activity, particularly center time. Using a holistic thematic approach to your lesson plans can make the transitions easier as well.

For example, during a farm unit...you have plenty of farm books in a bag when taking the kids to the bathroom...while your kids wait, they can read and trade books around.

When the classroom is getting too loud i use " 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 give me a high five (everyone raises their hand) shhhhhhhh...(finger to your lips)"

Try to focus on giving them positive directions...please keep your feet on the floor, etc... Maintaining a routine and schedule are very important. The first month or so will be a period of adjustment for you and your students. Please understand that every day will be unexpected, you may not get everything done on your lesson plans. IT'S OK!!!

I've listed a couple resources I use on a regular basis for lesson planning ideas, games, and other printables. There are even more than these but these are the ones i've used the most.

Please, please, please understand that POSITIVE reinforcement is the best way to approach young children. However, if necessary you may use a time out spot or chair for those instances where a student is causing bodily harm to others.

For those students who are overly emotional or upset, I have a 'teddy bear den' or quiet place to calm down. This area is a soft comfortable place. I've seen them made from cardboard barrels or just a bean bag that is set away from the main traffic of the class.

Ladies, Do you like guys in cowboy boots?

I'm a city girl that lives on the east coast who loves her cowboy boots! Here, not many guys wear them, but the few that do look great. When I go out, most I see wearing them wear them with their jeans, but there is one guy who wears cowboy boots to the office with dress slacks. He looks so well dressed, sharp and confident when he wears them. I even started wearing my cowboy boots to work more now with dress pants and skirts. Hope this helps - and wear what you like!!

Im getting a hamster and i have NO iDEA what cage to get it plese help im sure im getting a teddy bear hamster

Well, you need to find a cage that is not to small and not too big that your hammie will get confused but still enough to get exersize. Also you will not want a cage with tubes because teddybears are syrian hamsters and they can get really big, so they could get stuck. If this is your first hamster try a starter kit, this is a useful one, http://www.petco.com/product/12283/Super-Pet-My-First-Home-Kit-for-Hamsters.aspx and in this cage you get the most recomended bedding wich is carefresh and food and more! And try www.petco.com or www.petsmart.com hope I helped!
