Yahoo Groups Respond To A Personal Email Addy

Any way 2 find out owner of a yahoo email address?

I was recently defrauded by a person with a yahoo email adress. I was wondering if yahoo will release his/her name 2 me,or if there is any other way of finding out. Thanks

How do I recall a Yahoo Groups email message?

once it's sent to the group, you can remove it off the archives but it will still go to digest and those on individual mail settings

you'd locate that post, open it to read it- upper left will be
Reply - Forward - Delete
click the delete, next page click OK

When I send an email from Google a/c to Yahoo Groups, blank lines are inserted after every return?

It is possible that the message being sent from your gmail address has formatted text (HTML) but that your group deletes the formatting (not all Yahoo groups allow formatted text).

You can tell if this is true in two ways: the first is that the message has a note "[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]" appended at the bottom. You may have to go to the group's Messages section to see this, as gmail hides your own returned messages from you. The second way to tell is to look at the group's home page. In the left column there's a box with "Info" and "Settings" tabs. In the Settings tab if it says "Email attachments are not permitted" then message text formatting (HTML) is also not permitted.

If this is the case, try sending the message as text/plain only. When you compose the message in gmail, click the "More options" button in the lower right hand corner, then select "Plain text mode". That should be more compatible with messages in a "no attachments" group.

How can i find Yahoo member profile by their e-mail?

Well, only if the FROM email address IS a Yahoo one.....

Take their Yahoo ID from start of email address and enter it in your browser address bar like this: http://profiles.yahoo.com/username

What are good ways to choose a professional/proper email name/address?

Email addresses when you are a student, or from your employment will have their own formats, so I will address Personal email accounts. For Personal Email accounts, I am not an expert, but here are my thoughts and reactions:I am not impressed favorably by email addresses at "HotMail" or "Yahoo."Sorry, just my opinion. They don't seem serious.I have a negative feeling of email addresses at AOL, mostly as a feeling that people using AOL have AOL as their home page and are seeing the internet through the AOL filter. My feeling is that they are new to the internet, or never got off the on ramp. Again, just an opinion.I think that the best generic email domain is Gmail because Google is a serious and highly respected company. Also their free accounts have many great features and they do an AWESOME job filtering SPAM.I agree with Andrew Hennigan that the best short names are taken, and that "JohnSmith82" is not the format. Here is an example that I would use, if your name was Andrew James Harmon. I think that shorter is better, but remember that this is a personal email, and people responding or sending messages to you will at most only need to key in your email address one time. Mostly they will just click on it. So recognizable is more important than brevity. The following options are in the sequence I would try:Harmon@AHarmon@AJHarmon@AndrewHarmon@AndrewJHarmon@AndrewJamesHarmon@A.Harmon@A.J.Harmon@Andrew.Harmon@AndrewJ.Harmon@Andrew.James.Harmon@NOTES: I personally do not like an underscore ( _ ) between words. The emails system does not like blank spaces and inserts an _ in their place.I have used capital letters as you would in normal writing. The email systems IGNORES capital letters, treating or converting them to lower case. BUT humans find it much easier to read and recognize the add address with the capitalsExample: andrewjamesharmon vs. AndrewJamesHarmonI always advise customers to use capital letters in the same way with their domain names, unless they are so short and universally recognizable that it is not needed. So fedex or Fedex are both immediately recognized, as opposed to dogwalkingandshampoowithtlc vs. DogWalkingAndShampooWithTLC

Yahoo!Groups Pending Messages - delete or reject?

They are the same. This afternoon I "deleted" a pending message. I just checked the Moderator Activity log in Management and it showed the message was "rejected".

It's strange though. Before today, in the Pending Messages, there was a choice of Approve and Reject. Today there was a choice of Approve and Delete. Maybe that's a change made by Yahoo.

How do I stop unsolicited requests to join yahoo groups? (most are adult sites saying I asked), I didn't?

am constantly receiving e-mails from yahoo groups called sexy adult web cams etc....stating that they recieved my request to join and what to do to complete the joining process. I have never requested to join anything like this and dont knwo what to do to stop it. I have written to Yahoo without success, reported it as spam without success. If someone is doing this to me, how is it being done and what can be done? I asked this before and was told to change my password. I did and it had NO effect. Can't tahoo help me with this?
