Yahoo No Longer Concerns Itself With Its Customers

What is the difference between Quora and Yahoo Answers, etc.?

What is the difference between Quora and Yahoo Answers, etc? Most of the answers on Yahoo Answers are written by, well, yahoos. YA! does not concern itself with qualifications or credentials of those who provide answers. In this respect, Quora is vastly superior. A lot of the questions on YA! are posted by school kids wanting quick answers to homework. They usually feel entitled rather than grateful, and tend to be abusive when confronted or frustrated in their effort to get a free pass. Quora mostly discourages these questions, and usually flags them as homework, which I can filter out.The set of topics that are supported on YA! are a fixed heirarchy established by the website administrators many years ago. Each question must reside in a single topic. It is difficult on YA! to find a single, suitable topic for questions that cannot be answered with a Google search, and if you are lucky enough to find one, it is probably dead, with no responders.I won’t discuss the ridiculous point system on YA!, which motivates people to submit answers like “IDK” and “what he said,” in order to garner 2 points toward a “level-up”.When YA! decided that any question on the site would be answered in 1000 characters or fewer, I decided to not waste any more of my time with them. I tried StackOverflow (great for techies,) StackExchange (a haven for intellectual snobs,) and a few others so horrible that my memories are repressed. That’s when I found Quora, the proverbial happy medium. If you need some comic relief, by all means, check out YA!. If you want good information, look to Quora.

Should scientific research concern itself with ethical issues?

Should scientific research concern itself with ethical issues?

Please offer me your stand, 2 or 3 points to support your stand and a point which contradicts your own stand, if possible.

Thanks!

Do you think that the world is trying to regenerate itself?

No, I think it is suffering from what we have done to it. In the beginning of this century we had no idea what we were doing, now we do, but I feel we are already off the edge of the cliff and there is nothing to grab onto. We refuse to change our ways, it would set the world economy on its ear and our leaders are not about to let that happen. So we keep destroying this wonderful planet. We are not prepared for what will happen, and it will happen, it’s too late to change that. The earth will just react to what we have done to it. Our children’s, children will pay the consequences for our refusal or inability to change or repair what we have done as a civilization.

What purpose does Yahoo still serve?

I will call this a complete PR failure from Yahoo. People still think Yahoo is just a search engine and given Google's (and Bing's) superiority nobody uses it. That is an utterly wasteful thought. Yahoo still gets more than 3 Billion hits every day. As of June 2015, it was the 4th most visited website on the planet with more than 7 Billion hits on its news and media sites alone every month.Yahoo also owns Tumblr, one of the biggest blogging platforms in the world with more than 550 million users. Tumblr itself makes Yahoo one of the giants in social networks.Yahoo owns a substantial share of Alibaba which evaluates to ~$32 Billion. Yahoo also owns a lot of stake in a multitude of companies globally via Yahoo International. Its a shame that such a huge company is out for sale but it is still used and loved by a lot of people around the globe.

Is formal logic primary concerned with the form of arguments?

I would say yes to the first, since ALL logic is argument, formal or not. Logic, though, is neutral. If logic is used correctly, so long as the original premises are accepted by another, that other must also accept your logical conclusions. However, such perfect logic is difficult to construct.

Ok, think I lost myself LOL

.How far should schools go to help homeless children?

It is everyone's responsibility to ensure that children get what they require to flourish. It is in the best interest of the species. It is the right and responsible attitude toward nature and life.

The school is not responsible for every part of a child's life as we all know. They have taken on more and more responsibility for them because parents are either unable or unwilling to do their job. The struggle for survival makes us all drop the baby under a shady tree while we harvest a crop needed for winter.
There is not enough non-secular spirituality and awareness promoted. We are rewarded by yet further slavery if we do as we are told.
Every child needs what he/she needs when they need it. If they grow up missing some parts that are fundamental, then we get criminals and scumbags and nutcases. Love is the whole answer. If we stand for a moment behind another's eyes we know what must be done.
Homeless children should be scooped up and taken care of by a monitored system with healthy standards, run by compassionate people who have others to answer to.

This is not for a school of academics to concern itself with. However, human kindness is what is needed in this world currently and it always starts with what you have to give and goes from there.
