Security breach procedures?

It depends on the circumstances of the breach. Typically the first thing that will happen is that some sort of immedeate action will be taken to correct the conditions that lead to the breach.

The next thing that happens is an investigation called a 'damage analysis.' This investigation will determine 1) what information was compromised; 2) What are the chances that the compromised information fell into the hands of a hostile intilligence service; 3) What does the hostile intelligence service now know and are the potential consequences of them knowing? and 4) What countermeasures should be taken to mitigate the the effects of the comprimised information?

Finally will come the 'heads will roll' investigation. This is where the perosn or people who screwed up are punished. In a minor 'no harm done' incident the (lucky) person may be able to get off with a warning and additional training. Generally, the person who made the mistake will have their security clearance suspended or revoked - and frequently will wind up getting fired. If the case involved criminal intent or gross misconduct - the person can be placed on trial and sent to prison.

Has Coinbase ever had a security breach?

None significantly of which I’m aware. I remember reading a piece in a tech blog about some of the security procedures they have, involving cold storage in airgapped rooms and some other stuff. Not saying it can’t happen, but they seem to take security as seriously as a Vegas casino.

What do you think about the latest Facebook security breach and what consequences will it have going forward?

In the breach ending on or about 28th September 2018; Security tokens where stolen which have now been reset. However at this stage it appears passwords where not stolen so a password reset is not required. This means private information nay have been seen or captured by hackers that would not have normally been able to see that information which may lead to possible blackmail using that information. Facebook security staff are investigating further but it is unclear at this stage if Facebook has a log of everything viewed and from what IP address and are thus able to say exactly what the extent of the breach is. GDPR fines are likely to follow if EU persons data privacy has been breached. It will probably mean that third party products will not trust logins through Facebook anymore as well because this breach would have allowed access to such applications logged into from facebook. These related companies will now need to do their own security investigations. This will probably wipe billions off Facebook shares. It also serously calls into question their Cybersecurity and Infosec testing regime and may require action from an overseeing regulatory body as Facebook is being used as a utility in the infrastructure of the internet to log in to other services.Facebook should also live up to its obligations under GDPR and apply this to all customers. I.e. Notify all customers if their privacy was breached and what was accessed as part of the breach. It could also mean a significant increase in Identity Theft. It could also mean if it was a Nation Player that instigated the hack then 50 million people are more susceptible to manipulation, due to more accurate profiling, in elections or advertising.

What would you do in a security breach?

Ok, here we go ... The fist thing you need is a security strategy or a plan. Here is how I do it 1. get a paid Internet Privacy suite (I use ESET Smart Security)2. Get a premium vpn service (I use https://www.purevpn.com and ExpressVPN ) 3. get an adblocker 4. STOP USING GOOGLE CHROME Now, in case you have a breach of any social, email or other online accounts make sure you do this :sever all internet connections from all your devices turn off your router modem now decide on a new password (something with special characters, caps, numbers and small letters)turn on 2 factor security for all online accounts scan all devices for vulnerabilities consider rolling back your OS to a previous backup Once you are sure connect to the internet and apply step 3 and 4 get your machine checked up by a security expert , its cheap here i dont know how much they charge in your region

WebFldrs XP Is this a Breach of Security?

I was out for a half of day at work. I came in that afternoon and couldn't log into my computer because my machine had a user name that didn't belong to me. That user name belongs to my supervisor. She was on my computer when I was out. Why I don't know. Our Security Tech people did a little digging and found when she logged into my computer.

This notepad shows the event number, date time stamp her user name and the computer ID (which belongs to me). The Product shows that WebFldrs XP -- Configuration was completed successfully.

The Security Techs will have to do some more digging.

When I told her that I couldn't log into my computer because her user name was in place instead of mine. She told me that they were having trouble downstairs and that her machine had someone else user name on her machine that didn't belong to her.

I confirm with the Techs and they said any trouble they had wouldn't kick my user name off my computer and replace it with someone Else's.

What should I do about this? Any advice please. I'm very concern and alarmed about this. I now do not trust my supervisor and it will be really hard for me to work with her

Fallout 3 who dares win containing security breach?

if you talking about the train tunnels on the way to the airbase (enclave) i had that problem too once, have played the game many times. Sometimes either 1 of 2 things happen, either a ghoul has slipped passed you and is in one of the rooms some where, or there is a ghoul at one of the far end of the tunnels. if i remember the tunnel splits into 3 directions, easy to miss a ghoul thats beheied a piller sometimes. Also once in a while all the ghouls sometimes don't show up unless you go all the way to the end of the tunnels, its a pain but back track and check all the tunnels. I am currently replaying the game so if you are still stuck, e mail me and i will run through that part of the game as soon as i can.

Considering the great number of hacks and security breaches, and the recent breach of Unix, do you still use online banking?

Yes. The hacks and security breaches are the problem of the bank. I am protected by law (same with credit card frauds). This may be inconvenient to deal with but not that difficult.Note that there are failures of many services and equipment and we still use them (cars are notorious for killing their passengers). In the case of banks it is just money after all.

How could Pokémon GO potentially breach national security?

MI5 will no doubt understand that it is in the best interests of testing their security system. You will have to be prepared for instant fame. I suggest you appoint a Media manager in preparation for your appearances on National Television(s).If I were you I would restrict yourself to getting access to their rooftop garden and Bar. I am not sure if the MI5 rooftop Night Club is open during the day.Probably not a good idea to get NATO or our nuclear deterrent encryption decoding systems. As you know everybody has caught onto Pokemon even MI5.First you need at least 5–6 people. This will reduce attention concentration. They all need to dress, act and look like exactly like Pokemon's.This is best carried out in broad daylight with lots of people about. As MI5 will all be watching on their mobiles they will expect to see lots of Pokemon’s about. Now send out on all social media a message that a Pokemon virus has infected all security cameras in London.Off you go. Walk straight into MI5 as Pokemon's- they will ignore you as they will believe it is Pokemon on their mobile and security cameras.,Make sure you put it up as bet on Bet-fair so you can make a quick million and post it live to Periscope social media with a sponsor. It is a possible. Because security camera systems are not as secure as computer systems they are intended to protect. In theory you could link up all security camera systems and in the event of a National Emergency control what it is Security Services are reacting to.Cyber-crime in the U.K is rampant. Everyday we are told of, or experience, security breaches. Why is no person ever arrested? How many systems have been compromised at manufacturer and installation? Our security services would not know if camera systems had been compromised as they do not have a security breach testing system for them. Many are now wi-fi and not encrypted which allows for compromise.Note: This is only a hypothetical suggestion.www.showempathy.one
