What is your favorite song from the 60s?

Thanks for the A2A!Packed with a whole lot of soul with a mix of rock and roll, the 60’s were too good an era for music to be able to pick just one song from. Making this list feels like an injustice to all of the other great songs I’m not including. But, here goes. Here, There, and Everywhere - The Beatles. [Honestly, I suggest listening to the whole Beatles discography. It’d be time greatly enjoyed, and hence not wasted (to quote John Lennon)]America - Simon and GarfunkelI wish it would rain - The TemptationsSugar Pie Honey Bunch - The Four TopsYou can’t always get what you want - The Rolling StonesMr Tambourine Man - Bob DylanFor once in my life - Stevie WonderYou've Really Got a Hold on Me - Smokey RobinsonStand by Me - Ben E. KingDestination Anywhere - MarvelettesI have tried to keep my list diverse, but please don’t stop here. At the very least, listen to other songs by Dylan and Stevie. It’ll be immensely rewarding!

Teenagers: What are your favorite songs from the 60s-70s?

I’ve recently started to listen to folk rock and I’m just mesmerized by that genre, and apart from that I’m a huge fan of the Rock ’N Roll music from the 60s and 70s.Here are some of my favorites:Time in a Bottle - Jim CroceYour Song - Elton JohnWonderful Tonight - Eric ClaptonBabe I’m Gonna Leave you - Led ZeppelinWish You Were Here - Pink FloydFor more of the aggressive music, I go for the following:Highway to Hell - AC/DCWhole Lotta Love - Led ZeppelinSmoke on the Water - Deep PurpleCocaine - Eric ClaptonAnd talking about the Legends, there are these:Jailhouse Rock - Elvis PresleyPurple Haze- Jimi HendrixJohnny B. Goode - Chuck BerryBlowin’ in the Winds - Bob Dylan ( Congrats on the Noble Prize sir!)Knockin on Heaven’s Door - Bob DylanSongs won’t ever get old!Enjoy!

Which is your favorite rock song intro of the 60s?

Sir, Time Won’t Let MeTime Won't Let Me Outsiders STEREO HiQ Hybrid JARichardsFilm 720p by the Outsiders ( 66’ ). Those guys didn’t mess around their sound was up front in your face from the first drum roll and they never let up.

What is your favorite band from the 60s?

I have kept this question in my saved for later list while I take my time to mull it over. I have finally narrowed my answer down to two bands and I'm going to hopefully come up with a winner.Right let's put the contenders forward.Contender no.1: The DoorsFavourite song: Soul KitchenFavourit Album: L.A Woman (released ‘71)I know my favourite album by The Doors was released in the 70’s, but they are predominantly known as a 60’s band.Contender no.2: The Rolling StonesFavourite song: Gimme ShelterFavourite album: Let It BleedAgain I know most of The Rolling Stones’ releases have been outside of the 60’s but they are known as a 60’s band. This decision to split them is really hard. On the one had The Doors and Jim Morrison got me into reading and writing poetry, helped me discover Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and others. They really opened my mind up, even though Jim Morrison was a bit of a pretentious prick he was also kinda cool.On the other hand one of my real musical heroes was/is Brian Jones he was cool yet awkward his input to the early Stones records made them what they are today. The Blues covers they started out doing still lingers in their latest albums and I love the way they play unapologetic no nonsense Rock n Roll.Keith Richards and Robbie Krieger are two of the best guitarists I've heard with their own distinct sound that really push the two bands to a higher level than the competition of the day. Robbie’s bottle neck guitar on Moonlight Drive is very special and makes my ears prick every time I hear it, also that flamenco style he plays on Spanish Caravan that's really something else. Keith, what can I say about Keith? Go and listen to that fuzzy intro of Satisfaction and tell me your sock’s weren't blown off.Charlie Watts and John Densmore are actually classically trained Jazz drummer’s that really compliment their Rock n Roll bands with an extra element. Now we come to the two frontmen, Mick Jagger and Jim Morrison, two of the best frontmen ever in my opinion. Sexy, cool, men that just don't give a f**k, plus pretty good singers too. The one thing Jim has over Mick is that he is a much better lyricist in my opinion.Ohhhh do I really have to chose?Ok then the supergroup The Rolling Doors haha.E/D
