Your Internet Security Settings Prevernt One Or More Files From Being Opened

Your internet security settings prevernt one or more files from being opened?

I am trying to install a program, a message pops up saying my internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened. I followed the instructions and nothing changed, did not work. Please help. I've tried several different "solutions" I've did the internet explore site zone method, reset internet explore settings, I created a new internet setting file in my regedit with a new user and all that stuff. Nothing has worked and I am pissed. The program is from a torrent, i've downloaded other torrents before and never ran into problems installing them, PLEAS HELP!

"Your internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened"?

It sounds like you have an awful lot of corruption in your profile already.

best solution: wipe the machine clean, erase/format the hard disk, and return everything to factory new.
install the programs you need, (remove any you don't need) and get all the updates.
install & run antivirus, then move all your data back from your backups.

not-so-great: it may just be a bad user profile.
create another user, log in as that user. See if that other user has as many troubles.
if not.. or at least if less.. then copy/move all your files from your old profile to the new user you created. (everything under /users/yourname in Win7 - including hidden & system files)
that should get most stuff to work, and put all your data where you need it.

In any case - all this corruption means that there is already a problem on your hard disk. the kinds of programs you are downloading are more likely than average to have viruses.
this stuff could be happening because the machine is overheating (check airflow, clear any dustbunnies)..
or from electrical problems (brownouts -low voltage as well as lightning and high-voltage spikes)
.. or old age on your hard disk.
* 3 years begins old age on an average consumer hard drive.

If you cannot pin down a cause, then it could be some combination (viruses)(heat)(age)(electrical flutter) , and possibly user mistakes. - forcing a shut down will also damage your hard disk.

good luck!

Changing internet security settings?!?

I got my niece the sims 3 deluxe for Christmas, and I went to install it onto my laptop for her to play, but when I clicked on "Run Autorun.exe" to install it, I got a message and it says "These files cannot be opened; Your internet security setting prevented one or more files from being opened." I've looked through all my settings and it doesn't help. I also tried changing my UAC settings to default (I had it on the highest setting, I don't know why, though) and then when I went to click ok to save the change, it wouldn't save. Please help meee!! I feel horrible, getting her all worked up about getting to play Sims 3, then not being able to get it to work :(

by the way, i have windows 7, if that helps :p

Japanese Internment Camp Research help, please??

Hello, I may need alittle help on a research project on Japanese Internment Camps. I just need some good research sites where I can find some good info on this topic that is easy to read. Unfortunately, I also have to make a bibliography for the websites I researched at. It has to contain:

Name of website. Editor/Author. Date edited. Name of Organization. Date of access. Web address.

I would really appreciate your help. Because I really don't know why the hell my ENGLISH II teacher has to give us a project like this that involves difficult research...

So remember, I need some good websites on research on Japanese Interment Camps that contained the information for the bibliography example I showed above.

*If it doesn't have anything unimportant on it like, Date of access or Editor/Author, its ok ^_^

THANKS:)
