Zoloft Sertraline Hallucinations

Can Zoloft cause hallucinations?

I'm fifteen, just started taking Zoloft 25 mg for anxiety about a week ago. Since I started with the pills, I've been having insomnia for the last 4 months, but now I feel restless. I have to tap or sleep somewhere else in my house. Like the kitchen floor, or couch.

I've also been hearing things at night. I've heard a xylophone playing (really loud for about 2 minutes), a baby crying from inside my room, scratching at my doors, and screaming coming from the hallway.

Can Zoloft cause this?

What causes hallucinations when taking Zoloft?

Bad reaction. Stop taking it. If you already had hallucinations before, then maybe it’s exacerbated and then there is an additional drug you should be taking. But if you are only taking Zoloft and it causes hallucinations, then that’s not normal by any means. You need to do a walk I appointment to your doctor’s office about the hallucinations. This is on the emergency side of things. Your psychiatrist needs to get you off that med and into something different immediately!

Sertraline/Zoloft...?

Sedation,Seizures, Abnormal heart rhythm, seizures, suicidal thoughts or actions, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, hallucinations. and memory impairment...

It is stupid to try to get high on zoloft or any kind of drug... It is stupid to do drugs.... Zoloft( sertraline... It is a SSRI.. It is used to to treat depression, anxiety disorders and severe PMS also known as Premenstrual Dystrophic Disorder....
Yes I think you can get high on this medication...

Is this common with Zoloft (Sertraline)?

I've been dealing with anxiety and depression since I was real small but got diagnosed officially when I was 14. I'm 20 now, female and just got back on it.
It's a long story but I got kicked out of Child and Family for not showing up to appointments and what not.
Now that I'm back on it, it feels so.......strange? I feel like a effing robot unable to really feel emotional pain, happiness ect...But the scary thing is that i DON'T remember it being like this when I first started taking it.

I know this kinda' contradicts with what I just said but I AM a little nervous of it's effects. It's not going to make me feel so numb that I want to do stupid **** is it?
That last thing I want is to brake any kinda' laws that'll end me up in prison or something.

What're your thoughts?

What happens if you overdose on Sertraline (Zoloft)?

Zoloft can cause hallucinations and agitation, as well as sleep loss. A man in Australia was prescribed the 50mg tablets and took 5 of them on his first night of treatment.

He killed his wife as a result of the hallucinations and agitation.

My advice would be to IMMEDIATELY contact a hospital. Not only are you in severe danger of killing yourself, but you may even kill others. You will start to lose the capacity to conduct reasoned thought and you will experience hallucinations and severe agitation. Do not drive yourself to hospital, it's likely you won't be able to stay on the road as you will experience a toxic delirium - like being high.

Whatever you do, do it quickly. You have taken an extreme overdose and you are in extreme danger.

EDIT: I don't know how long it'll be before you start feeling the effects; I'm guessing it'll be a few hours, but to be honest, I've NEVER heard of a 1,500 mg dose of sertraline being taken all at once, so I don't actually know.

Whatever you do, good luck... if you don't go to the hospital, you will NEED it. So will anyone else in your house.

Is Zoloft (25mg) supposed to make you hallucinate or see things in a distorted way when you look them?

It's not a common side effect, but zoloft did that to me as well. I was prescribed 50mg of zoloft for depression, which was a little ridiculous, because 25mg is the typical starting dose. I was given a 90 day prescription and only took one pill because the side effects were so severe and out of the ordinary.I took a pill in the evening as directed, and an hour or so later, I experienced mild hallucinations. Colors were vivid, unmoving objects looked wavy and swirly, and things that moved had tracers. The visuals were similar to shrooms, actually. While I could have dealt with the visual distortions, it was the other side effects that turned me off to all SSRI antidepressants (Prozac had a similar effect, but less severe). I had tightness and chattering in my jaw, tense muscles, a terrible migraine, and kept shivering on and off. It was miserable.I called my doctor the next day and explained what had happened, and was told to discontinue use because I was clearly, “ulra-sensitve”. It took a couple days for everything to completely subside.I’m currently prescribed remeron, a tetracyclic antidepressant, and haven't had any issues.

Can you combine sertraline (zoloft) with Molly (MDMA)?

I take 50 Mgs of sertraline once a day and I have for about 3 Years now. If I took one dip of MDMA would it effect my roll at all? Eg. Lessen it, intensify it, make me sick, make me hallucinate, nervous, etc. Thanks for the help. :)
